Jeffery's Cafe Co

I ate here for the first time at about 600 pm today. There were 12 diners in total seated at 5 tables. There were 3 people working behind the counter and a further person came behind the counter at about 645 pm. I as well experienced service or no-service is more the case. The servers were unfriendly, did not use their steps carefully in the execution of their job, ignored me for a good while then I finally had to get up and go to the counter to get noticed. The food was okay but not spectacular. If people think this is a gourmand's dream diner then I feel sorry for you because you patently have no idea what really good for is about. It is not about using a microwave to reheat items, not about prepurchasing unbaked goods and then baking them off in your facility (as in the puff pastry)....you may as well purchase this stuff at Costco as they do the same thing. And just so you know, I have worked in cafes, restaurants, diners and the like and in my day, you would never see this type of inept service. It is a shame that this province has been a boom province because it has raised nothing but useless, selfish, 'I am entitled because I simply exist'people who when they do finally seek employment have no idea what courtesy, service and professionalism is about. I actually do feel sorry for the business owners because you would either have to pay these workers $25.00 an hour in order to attract competition that is quality or you are stuck with the deadbeats that you have.

I tend to agree with the comments below - wonderful, healthy, alternative food but terrible, slow service. I know that everywhere in town has problems with service standards due to lack of experienced help available, but Jeffrey's is alot worse than most. It's a shame - Grande Prairie needed a beautiful little lunch spot like this, but it's made quite the reputation in the business community - you don't go to Jeffrey's for a business lunch (or lunch period) unless you have a good 2 hours to spare. This place would be near perfect if the service could improve!

Jeffreys cafe is one of the best places to eat in town. they have awesome food, friendly staff, and everything is low priced. In response to others comments here about the rude staff/clutterd tabels/other complaints, unless you yourself have worked in a restaurant, you shouldn't be making those comments because its not as easy as it looks. Ive never been there several times, and not once have i not been treated with friendly helpful service. You go anywhere else and the food takes 10 times longer and its usually much more expensive, plus u cant even see whats going on in the kitchen, where as at jeffreys u have a front row seat to watch your food be freshly made in a clean environment.

I AGREE, THE FOOD IS GREAT, HOWEVER THE SERVICE DOES SEEM TO GET WORSE EVERYTIME WE DINE THERE, THE TABLES DO STAY DIRTY AND CLUTTERED FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, THE SERVICE AND STAFF MAKE IT TOUGH TO RETURN.

The food is very good. However, the service and delivery of food is very poor. I have sat with friends and watched the staff handle the food improperly, miss opportunities to upsell delicious desserts and drinks, leave tables dirty and cluttered for extended periods of time, and so on. Please hire a manager to ensure that this promising food and environment does not become history, the concept is so good but is spoiled by the staff that represent it. I shall give it another chance but keep saying to myself that this is the last time!

The best food I've had in grande prairie, beats all the other restaurants in grande prairie hands down!

Bad service, terrible food, and rude staff. I have been to Jeffrey's on three separate occasions, hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt. Everytime I go there it seems to get worse. I will never eat there again!!!
